Are you ready for the challenge of the Mexican Railway?! Ideal as
a conference energiser or stand-alone activity, our Mexican
Railway event is a brilliant concept if you’re looking to really
highlight team work, communication, lateral thinking and the bigger
picture.
Suitable for any size group, the Mexican Railway requires teams
to delegate and plan against the clock, as well as interact with
their opposing teams if they want to succeed. Guaranteed to keep all
your group on their toes throughout and complete with a surprise
finale challenge, the Mexican Railway is the perfect way to refresh a
day’s conference and really get your group working together; all with a
lot of fun involved!
The Challenge
Split into teams, your group is given the conundrum: with a set number
of machine rolled paper rods, Y-shaped structure supports and a handful
of cable ties, how do you construct a set length of railroad that is
capable of transporting a football from its start to end? Sound easy
enough? Wrong! The clock is ticking and our event manager will require a
design sketch of each group’s idea when the time is up. With only a
select few pieces of the equipment to trial, will your team be able to
conceive that working solution?!
The Race
You’ve had time to think, now its time to act. Given all the equipment
you should need, your group must now put their plan into action. You
won’t have long so delegation is a must and if your plan doesn’t seem to
be working you’re going to have to think fast! When our event manager
calls time, all teams will have to line up and master the Mexican wave
on their Mexican rail road, as all the group goes head to head to race
their tracks! The winners will be those who are first to transport their
ball from start to finish without the ball falling off.
Surprise Finale
So your teams have worked well in their own groups but can they all work
as one cohesive unit? Guaranteed to take your group by surprise,
everyone must now come together to join all their rail roads into one
big track. Just as in business, adjustments and compromises will have to
be made so the ball can travel seamlessly along the railway, and
everyone will have to work together to produce that perfect Mexican wave
movement in order to make it work! A brilliant and fun end to the event
that has real parallels with working business.
