The Apprentices

Themed on the highly successful BBC 2 reality TV show ‘The Apprentice', this topical event will test team work in a fun and unique environment.

Teams will be set challenging and fun business tasks that they will have to complete as a team.  Each team will have an ‘expert' monitoring their performance and ability to work together as a cohesive unit. Each team will nominate a leader for each task to head that particular challenge.

This event is ideal as a stand alone activity or after a conference.  It can also be held at a selection of venues such as a conference centre, hotel or at your own office.

The tasks are designed to test:
- Delegation
- Trust
- Communication
- Time management
- Team work
- Negotiation
- Presentation skills
- Leadership

On completion of the challenges a discussion will occur, after which the day's expert will award the winning team. The losing group's team leader will have to nominate 1-2 others from his/her own team that they believed performed poorly during the team task.  All other members will be sent outside while the others remain at the boardroom table to defend their "job" and avoid being fired!

This isn't for the faint hearted with comments true to Sir Alan Sugar, the sharp tongued cockney himself: "you seem to have gone from anchor to wanker!"  Who will be able to defend their job and who will be told the immortal phrase "You're fired!"?

Of course we won't send you home early in a black cab with a cameraman to record the tears! Instead your team will be docked points from their final score.

The Tasks:

Gift of the Gab:
As a team you are given a list of unusual items you have to purchase from the surrounding area.  You are given a list of the RRP of all items and a budget of the total RRP of all items.  As a team you must locate and negotiate the best price possible for all items and you are not able to pay full price for anything.  The team with the most items and least money spent will be crowned the winner.

Calendar Club:
As a team you will be given a Polaroid camera, props and a blank calendar template to create your own personalized calendar.  You will have to create a themed brand design and sales plan for your product.  Once completed your team have to nominate a presenter who will have to pitch in front of the expert and other teams for the most orders for their calendar.  The team with the most orders will be declared the winner.

Party Plan:
As a team you have to plan the ultimate party.  With a set budget you must plan the party of the century from timings, themes, catering, and entertainment to table centres.  Once completed your team have to nominate a presenter who will have to pitch in front of the expert and other teams to persuade them that your party is the place to be!

On the Box:
As a team you are given a spec for a new service being launched in the UK.  With the given props you are asked to create a 30 second TV advertisement which will best promote this new product including the actors, directors, and script.  Teams will have to present their advertisement in front of the expert and the other teams to be crowned the winner of this challenge.

The Winners:
No ‘apprentices' of Sir Alan Sugar would enjoy success in any other way but pure style!  While the losers battle it out in the boardroom, the winners will be taken to a private room for a selection of luxurious treats (each to last 15 minutes).

Champagne and Truffles:
A private room set up with champagne and truffles with jazz music playing in the background... sit back and enjoy!

Cocktails and Canapés:
A private room set-up with cocktails and canapés and fun and funky tunes to get you in the mood.

A trip to the Races (additional):
A private room will be set up with a projector showing recorded horse races.  Whilst sipping champagne guests will be wowed by the commentator and given fun money to bet on the horse races.

Casino and Cocktails (additional):
A private room will be set up with fun sized casino table(s) such as roulette and black jack.   Las Vegas theme tunes will be playing away whilst guests sip away at their cocktails.  Guests will have fun money to bet on their favorite number!
